AFTERCARE GUIDE
Eyeliner Aftercare
Thank you for trusting us with your permanent eyeliner. Good aftercare protects your results and helps your eyes heal evenly. Here is what we recommend.
First 24–48 hours
- Swelling around the eyes is common for 1–3 days. A clean, cool compress (not ice directly on skin) can help.
- Gently blot any moisture with a clean tissue; do not rub your eyes.
- Do not wear eye makeup, lash extensions, lash curlers or lash serums until healed.
- Remove contact lenses before your appointment and wait until the swelling settles before wearing them again.
Days 3–10
- Flaking, light scabbing and itching are normal. Do not pick or scratch.
- The color may look patchy or lighter for a while as your eyes heal. This is part of the process.
- Keep the area clean and dry, and apply only the aftercare we gave you, in a very thin layer.
- Sleep on your back if you can, on a clean pillowcase.
What to avoid
- Picking, peeling, scratching or rubbing the area; let flakes fall off on their own
- Makeup, creams, serums or sunscreen on the treated area until it has healed
- Swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms and heavy sweating for 10 days
- Direct sun and tanning beds while healing; afterwards, use sunscreen to protect the color
- Retinol, acids (AHA/BHA) and exfoliating products near the area for at least 2 weeks
- Facials, peels, laser or other skin treatments on the area until we say it is fine
Your touch-up
- We usually check your healing at a follow-up visit about 6–8 weeks after your appointment. The final color shows once the skin has fully healed.
When to call us
- Redness, swelling or tenderness that gets worse after day 3
- Yellow or green discharge, a bad smell, heat, or spreading redness
- Fever or feeling unwell
- Any sign of an allergic reaction, such as a rash, hives or itching that will not settle
